here u go - just snips from what he posted: Bliltz is good stuff, if I remember right it got a B for shine and average durability for a carnuba. The only problem is it dries white. ------------------------- How did I know the Zaino people would come out of the woodwork? Zainos is good if you want to spend all day on the initial application-dawn wash, the pre-polish and the main polish along with the sometimes long drying time. It will outlast any conventional wax since it is a synthetic. Klasse will also last a long time but some people experience hazing with Klasse SG, usually because they used too much. For someone who regularly washes and waxes their car, either a carnuba based wax like P21S/S100 or a synthetic like Klasse or Zainos will give good protection and an excellent shine. If you only want to wax twice a year, then you might not mind the $80 or so for the Zainos system and the lengthy initial application (to be fair, after the first application, subsequentant ones are easy), then by all means, try out Zainos. Just bear in mind on dark cars, it won't have the depth of a carnuba wax-and numerous enthusiasts on several detailing boards will attest to this. On silver, pearls or other light colors, this won't matter and some of the Zaino'd silver cars I've seen look amazing. For the first 4-5 weeks, P21S/S100 outperformed every other wax in the test based on appearance and in fact, beaded longer than every other carnuba except for a tie with Meguiars #26 and was outbeaded by Collinite waxes (which got B- in appearance). Even after 8 weeks and when P21S was only lightly beading, the optics and reflection will still far ahead of most waxes at their initial application and only slightly behind Zainos at that point. The main point for this thread was to let everyone know about a great wax that is readily available for a low price that is easy to use, durable for a carnuba and has an incredible shine. To answer a few questions: 1) No need to prewash with dish soap to strip any old wax. If you buy the paint cleanser, that will not only polish the paint, but remove any old wax on the paint. 2) You can layer S100 since it is a pure wax. This means each succesive layer will deepen the shine. I used two initial coats on mine and then waxed it again two weeks later...Imprezza 13 can attest to the shine on my car since he saw it today in person. 3) Depending on where you live, the weather, any acid rain (which we do not get in Dallas), etc S100/P21S should last a good 8-12 weeks. Zainos will last 6-9 months, so again, if durability is your prime concern, check out Zainos. The good thing about P21S/S100 is that it is so easy to use, you won't mind waxing every couple of months if needed...and anyone who has already tried it can certainly back me up. 4) P21S/S100 comes with it's own foam applicator and I recommend microfiber towels as the first choice to remove it followed by soft terry cloth (bath) towels. You can get microfiber towels at Autozone (made by Turtle Wax) 2 for $4.99. You won't regret the investment-just buy a package or two every time you go to the autoparts store and after a few months you will have more than enough to clean your car. Microfiber towels do not lint (don't wash them with anything you know sheds lint, btw) and they are unbelievably soft. 5) To those using Meguiars 3 step products...please stop! It isn't junk, but they have stuff that is so much better. Stick with Meguiars Mirror Glaze line and you will get better results. Personally, the first time I used S100, I polished my car with Meguiars Swirl Free Polish (their Body Shop Pro line, Mirror Glaze equivalent is Swirl Remover #9 2.0), then used the S100 Paint Cleanser then applied 2 coats of S100. Just thought you might like to know-Steve (the main guy who did the wax testing) uses Zainos on his personal cars--topped with P21S. He gets the durability of Zainos with the wet shine of P21S.
[ [ http://autopia.ws/forums/index.php ] ] is an excellent one. Use the search button and you will find answers to almost anything you want to know.
BTW, I have a link on my site that shows the shine of P21S/S100, Pinnacle Paste Glaz and Pinnacle Souveran: [ [ http://www.scottwax.com/shine.htm ] ] Short Bus--I use Clay Magic's blue bar for most claying (like imbedded grit, light overspray, etc. For heavy overspray, I use Clay Magic's red bar or Meguiars Body Shop Professional Overspray Clay. Both are hella sticky. For tire/vinyl protectant, you can't go wrong with Meguiars #40 Rubber and Vinyl Cleaner and Conditioner. Soaks in quickly so the surface it dry to the touch quickly and it has a satiny shine that looks more new than glossy. BTW, ArmorAll has been reformulated so it also has a more satiny sheen and protects better. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by iCe Scott, can you give me the ratings for "Liquid Glass" from the Guru Test. I am currently using them now and want to compare to the s100s. Thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You probably don't want to know. I lent my copy to a customer so I don't have it in front of me, but both Liquid Glass and Finish First did not do well, and in fact seem to be nearly identical products. Both got a C+ for appearance and stopped beading after about 4-5 weeks. The testers also didn't like the chemical smell.

From what I understand, all Harley Dealers carry the S100 line. The one by me had about 6-7 jars of it.
BTW, each jar is 6.2 oz and should be enough to wax your car at least 25-30 times. It goes on like warm butter and practically wipes off. Easiest stuff to use evar and it won't turn trim white or leave any white crap in you emblems or between body panels. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Garage Battle is it hand applicable? orbiter? also how long will a good coat last in semi-rainy conditions? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apply by hand (see my previous post) and it should last a good 10-12 weeks if you wash properly (using a good car wash soap and NOT dish soap). It was one of the longest lasting carnuba waxes tested by Guru.
BTW, it is so easy to use, you may find yourself waxing nearly every time you wash. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by ::abizzom:: I wash my car 3-4 times a year.
All of those being when it goes to the dealer for service... Is that bad? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Your car should be washed and vacuumed weekly to keep the paint and interior clean. When you leave dirt on your paint for months it ends up deteriorating the paint and when someone leans up against it, they grind all that dirt into the paint.
2) Just how good do you think the dealer does with those 'free' car washes? Originally posted by RotorBalls So how many bottles do you need to do an entire car? Just one? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One jar should wax your car 25-30 times.
